HOW WE MET

Once upon a time, Colt Brian Kimbrough asked a random blue haired girl that just moved in to go to church with him. She very politely said no thanks (that is not true, she lied and told him she had a church). The random blue haired girl had not been to church in 6 years and wasn't planning to go anytime soon. 9 months later, the blue haired girl (whos hair wasn't blue anymore so maybe we should just call her Sam now) went to church with her Aunt in Oklahoma. Little did she know, that sunday morning she felt something she had not felt in quite some time. She decided she wanted to go back to church and she knew just the person to ask. When Sam got home, she went down to her neighbors door and left a note asking him to take her to church (she had no idea where the guy lived but she had a "feeling" that 106c was the right apartment).

The accidental first date

Colt had reached out to Sam and they decided to go to church together that Wednesday (Colt was a dingdong and didn't realize till Wednesday at 5 that there was no church that day)*. Sam decided to go out with her sister to try to learn to country dance in dallas instead. They had left late and sad because they didn't learn anything (whomp whomp). On the way back, Sam was texting Colt about how she wanted to learn to dance but had failed miserably, and colt was totally answering her and she was NOT blowing up his phone (he had been asleep for HOURS, he was not answering at all). Thursday morning, Colt woke up and apologized for missing her text last night and offered to make it up to her by teaching her how to dance that night (what a gentleman)!* They went to a random gravel patch down some backroads (he asked if she was going to murder him in the woods on the drive there, to which she responded "idk yet"). He was very patient with her (and never threw her on the ground because he would never do that). When Sam got home, she was smitten. She eventually asked him if them hanging out was supposed to be a date. Colt said "idk"(what a great response ladies and gentlemen, take notes). They decided that it wasn't meant to be a date, but it felt like the best date ever.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

After a month and a half of seeing each other, and learning to dance, Colt and Sam had gone out to the same gravel patch (aka The Spot). While they were there, Colt started to pick flowers for Sam from the wildflower patch nearby. He had no idea how to make a bouquet so he asked Sam to help him. Colt also begged her to use electrical tape as the ribbon to tie them all together (and she did because she is so super sweet like that). While Sam was sitting on the toolbox on Colts truck, watching the sunset, Colt asked her to be his girlfriend. Can you guess what she said?

"Will you marry me?"

On Colt and Sam's 1 year anniversary, Colt took her out to the spot once again. He told her to sit on the tailgate because they were going to make a bouquet like they did the year before. He picked flowers, and she made them look pretty. When Sam hopped down from the tailgate and started to get in the truck, she turned around and Colt was down on one knee. He had a whole speech, which Sam sadly doesn't remember, but Colt will happily keep repeating the speech whenever she asks.

our favorite stories to tell

The Wednesday they were supposed to go to church, Colt ended up outside working on his truck instead. Sam got home and saw him out there, so Sam decide that she was going to deep clean her apartment. She knew she had a lot of stuff she wanted to clean out and throw away, which meant she would get to walk past Colt while hes working on his truck. He came up to talk to her that night and apologized for not having church. Our favorite part of this story, Sam didn't find out until 6 months into the relationship. It turns out, Colt had finished working on his truck right after Sam got home, but he sat outside and found something else to do on his truck, just so he could see her.

One of the things Sam was texting Colt about the Wednesday night she was out with her sister, was that she REALLY wanted IHOP. So the next day, before they went to the spot to dance, they went to IHOP and they had Donna as their waitress. They go every Wednesday now after church to go see Donna.
